Cornwall is host to a whole array of surf setups. Open beaches, secluded coves and secret reef breaks. The ever changing weather and wave conditions make it a difficult but very rewarding place to photograph. Ive put together a collection of images featuring the best Cornish waves and the surfers that thrive from them. Size: 6ft+ Wind: Howling Westerly Rating: 4/10 Comment: Similar story again up Godrevy this morning, lots of swell and lots of wind. Looking stormy. Should change a little this afternoon when the wind swings NW for the weekend so a good chance of some south coast waves. Click the image to view it larger.
Size: 6-8ft+ Wind: Howling Westerly Rating: 5/10 Comment: Yet again the same story up at Godrevy today big swell and howling westerlies are just creating a soupy mess. Plenty of waves around in sheltered spots though. Went for a swim with the camera this morning and found some barrels (pic below). Seek and ye shall find… Click the image to view it larger.

Size: 4ft+ Wind: Moderate W swing NW this evening Rating: 3/10 Comment: A change of pace this morning not having to battle through the rain to get a picture of the surf, instead was greeted by a rainbow stretching over Gwithian life guard hut. Still a little bit cleaner than it has been of recent this morning. Waves over head high on the sets. accompanied by a westerly wind. Wind is meant to be swinging NW later today so could be a chance [...]
Size: 4ft+ Wind: Strong SW Rating: 3/10 Comment: Finally a slight change in conditions although still nothing to be desired. The wind now has a little bit of southerly in it so theres a chance for some north coast sheltered spots to be cross/offshore. Swell has dropped a little today now but still well overhead at Godrevy. Size: 5-6ft+ Wind: Strong W Rating: 2/10 Comment: Definitely a pattern occurring here, today is what the 4th or 5th day of consecutive strong onshore winds, rain and cloud. Wind was a little crazy up here this morning and bitterly cold.
